Founded in 2001, Masjid Al Mu’mineen is one of Indianapolis’s cornerstone centers of worship, service, and community leadership. Located on the near east side of the city, our masjid proudly serves a diverse congregation of Muslims while remaining deeply rooted in the surrounding neighborhoods. As the second Islamic house of worship established in Indianapolis, Masjid Al Mu’mineen has remained a spiritual home for generations—grounded in Qur’an and Sunnah, and committed to faith in action.
More than a place of prayer, Masjid Al Mu’minēn is a hub of holistic community care. Our mission extends beyond the walls of the masjid through robust outreach, education, and social services. For many years, this work operated through our nonprofit arm, the SHARE Center, which supported food access, youth programming, and reentry services. In 2022, this commitment to community development was expanded and formalized with the launch of Mumineen Community Development Corporation (MCDC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to scale our social impact and address critical needs with greater structure and reach.
Through MCDC and our community partnerships, we provide reentry support for formerly incarcerated individuals, operate food distribution and emergency assistance programs, and develop transitional housing and workforce readiness initiatives. Our work is rooted in dignity, restoration, and empowerment—particularly for communities that have historically faced economic hardship and systemic barriers.
At Masjid Al Mu’minēn, we believe the masjid is not only a place of worship, but a place of service, healing, and transformation. We strive to uplift the spiritual and material well-being of our community through prayer, education, charity, justice, and compassion. Whether you come seeking worship, guidance, or support, you are welcome here.
Masjid Al Mu’mineen is where faith meets service, and where belief is lived through action.
